Cheesy Garlic Bread


How to Make Cheesy Garlic Breadsticks

Total Time: 2 hours and 45 minutes

Yields: 24 – 30 bread sticks

Level: Intermediate



3/4 cup warm water

2 cups all purpose flour

2 tablespoons softened butter

2 teaspoons sugar

1 teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons yeast

2 tablespoon olive oil


1/4 cup chopped garlic

1 stick softened butter

1/8 cup chopped parsley

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese


In a bowl, add in the warm water, yeast and sugar. Mix with a spoon and set aside for 5 minutes. Next, toss in the salt, butter, olive oil an 1 1/2 cup of the flour. Save the rest of the flour for later. With a wooden spoon, combine these ingredients. Cover this with wax paper and place in a cool place for an hour and a half.

After an hour, add in the rest of the flour. Knead the dough on a flat and floured surface. Lightly cover the ball of dough in olive oil, put it in a bowl and cover it again. Place in a cool spot for an hour and a half.

While the dough is rising, mix together the butter, parsley, chopped garlic and the mozzarella cheese. Take your dough out after an hour and a half and knead it on a floured surface. Roll out your dough to about a centimeter in hight. Find a deep pan, line it with parchment paper and cut your dough so that it fits flat in the pan. Use a fork and poke a few holes in the bottom. Put the cheese mixture right on top of the dough and place in the and bake at 450 degrees until the cheese has brown spots.
